Night Work, Elm Station & Advocacy
Night Work on October 6
The Colfax Bus Rapid Transit project will work on utilities overnight on Monday, Oct. 6 along Colfax, between Hudson Street and Holly Street. The work will take place overnight to ensure public safety and minimize impacts on traffic flow and daytime business activity. During this time, both eastbound and westbound lanes on Colfax Avenue will remain open, with intermittent lane closures as the work progresses throughout the night.
September 18 Colfax Chat
On September 18, local businesses and property owners gathered with the BRT team to learn more about the construction, discuss the business grant opportunity, and discuss RTD safety plans for BRT. You can view the recording here.

First BRT Station Risings
Colfax Mayfair BID staff are working with the BRT project team to host two "station rising" watch parties in mid- and late November at Colfax and Elm Street. Support your business neighbors and help us spread the word—more details coming soon!
Support for Flavored Tobacco Businesses
The board passed a resolution supporting the repeal of Denver's flavored tobacco ban, which impacts seven local businesses selling legal products to adults in our district and hundreds across the city. These businesses are at risk of closure despite state laws prohibiting sales to minors. A better solution is regulated sales, as implemented with alcohol and marijuana. Thanks to Phil Guerin of Myxed Up Creations for leading this effort!
Waste No More & Local Restaurants
On September 5, the BID urged City Council to exempt struggling local restaurants from new recycling and composting rules. While no full exemption was granted, an opt-out option was included. This affects 18 restaurants in our district—many of them beloved community staples. Thanks to Carrie Wigglesworth of The W Denver for her leadership! Our letter here.
