Business Grants, BRT Construction, New Biz

Colfax Bus Rapid Transit Construction

  1. Hudson Street: preparation for the future BRT station will be underway soon, including underground utilities and drainage (ie, big hole) in the center of Colfax, for 3-4 weeks. Most of the work will be on the east side of Hudson Street. Construction will not affect most on-street parking, loading zones or business entrances. Side streets will remain open.
  2. Glencoe to Monaco: preconstruction work and potholing, along with short-term intersection closures lasting approximately 3-5 days. Business access and most on-street parking will remain open.

BRT project team members are going door-to-door to speak with businesses.

Business Grants

The next round of the Business Impact Opportunity Fund grants offered to small businesses on East Colfax will open on Sept. 2, 2025, and will be open through the month of September. Small businesses located on East Colfax, from Broadway to Glencoe Street, will be eligible to apply.

This grant is intended to support small businesses that have been impacted by specified city-funded construction projects within 350 feet of their business location. Applicants may apply for a one-time grant, with grant amount being based on the annual gross revenue tier:

  • $7,500 for businesses with annual gross revenue equal to or less than $100,000
  • $15,000 for businesses with annual gross revenue greater than $100,000

More on the grants and business support during construction here.

Businesses from Colorado Boulevard to Glencoe Street

Businesses affected by extended Denver Water construction can use an extended 24 -month lookback for their grant applications. City staff will host an informational meeting in August to help applicants with any questions or concerns. We will send out meeting info when it is available.
